It's A Boy!!!!

Stephen and I had our ultrasound yesterday morning. I was a nervous wreck and cried the whole time because I was afraid something might be wrong with him. At one point, the ultrasound tech told me I had to calm down because being that stressed out wasn't good for the baby. After what happened to my co-worker at their ultrasound though, I couldn't help feeling nervous. Luckily, Baby Boy Crigler is healthy and happy at this point. Stephen and I are so blessed and grateful to God that he has given us this miracle. After being afraid that we might not be able to have children, this day was a very special treat. I must admit, I am already a proud mommy and I think our baby has what might be the most precious profile in the whole world. He also is apparently all boy and very proud of "his stuff" as you will be able to see in the pictures. I am almost a little embarrassed to show them...and that is saying a lot since y'all know I am not that modest.

Stephen is thrilled that he is going to have a little boy to take hunting and fishing and play sports with. I am sure our baby's first words will not be mama or dada, but rather Roll Tide. Enjoy the first glimpse you are getting of Baby Boy Crigler!

18 Weeks

Okay, so this is technically 18 weeks and one day, but close enough. I always have these pictures taken at the end of long days for some reason, so pardon the fact that I look like I have been hit by a truck.

A New Ride for Mommy and Baby Crigler

HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! I finally have a new car. Stephen and I started test driving new cars this weekend and we test drove an Accord and a Camry. We had been saving for over a year and were fully prepared to buy a new car. Well....my deal seeking husband had other plans :) He was paging through the classifieds this past Sunday and he stumbled upon a 2008 Honda Accord EXL with less than 7,000 miles for under $20K. We were excited because we had just test driven the exact same car the day before...for almost 10K more. We ended up calling the guy and seeing the car that night and offering to buy it. Long story short, I picked it up this afternoon at lunch and I now have a NEW car.

It is so exciting...and nice compared to Kenneth. I actually have power windows and keyless entry and cruise control. How fancy! It also has a fabulous sun roof and I can plug my iPod directly into the stereo. YAY! Baby Crigler is going to be riding in style come August!

16 Weeks

Just a quick update. Had my 16 week appointment yesterday and things look good. Baby C's heart rate was 150 which is well within the range of normal. I had some glucose in my urine but they think it was just because I had a big lemonade (read sugar water) right before I took the test. They said if it happened again in two weeks that I will have to go in early for my glucose test. Fingers crossed it was just the lemonade.

Okay...and here is the big news. Mark your calendars for March 27th. We go in at 8am on that day to get our ultrasound and find out the sex of the baby. Very exciting. Stephen was talking with someone at work who had to go back 4 times before they could tell the sex...so cross your fingers that Baby Crigler will cooperate!

Daycare Decision Done

Hurray! The 2009 tour of daycare's is officially over! I went to see four centers total and viewed my last one this morning. Let's just say it was easy to tell why that one was $200-$300 cheaper per month. We have decided to use The Odyssey School which is right across the street from my office. It was the one that I was hoping would work out from the get-go and I can thank Stephen for finding it for us. It has a part-time infant program,so Baby Crigler will be starting there 3 days a week in the Spring of 2010. My mom will keep the baby 3 day a week until then. Once Baby Crigler hits daycare, I am going to add another part day in the office to my work schedule and mom will help out on that day. This hasn't been officially approved by Tinsley, but I am hoping he likes this schedule. I am still astounded by how much daycare costs...Stephen says we can tell people we are sending Baby Crigler to our summer home when it goes to day care...but I have learned that you really get what you pay for. It is a very small price to pay to insure the health, safety, and happiness of your baby.

I have my four month appointment on Thursday and I think I get to schedule my ultrasound at that time. We should be aiming for having it either the week of 3/23 or the week of 3/30. I will keep everyone posted. I had a co-worker recently get a devastating diagnosis through their ultrasound and that reminded me that they are not just given to find out the sex of the baby. I have been nervous, but when am I not. Pray that Baby Crigler is healthy and will cooperate and let us figure out if it is a girl or boy!

Baby Bump Watch 2009

Okay, here they are. They much anticipated first baby bump pictures. Please keep in mind I had just eaten a very large Mexican dinner with my girlfriends, so that is helping to contribute to the bump. I will admit though that I finally bit the bullet and bought two pairs of maternity pants today at Target. I tried them on in the dressing room and thought, finally a pair of pants that is comfortable!

The Beginning

Well, I have decided to take the plunge and jump into the wonderful world of baby blogs. I always joke that my entire day could be taken up by Facebook, Perezhilton.com, and reading all my friends baby blogs. I guess it is time to have one of my own.

Life for the current Crigler Crew of 2 has been going very well. I am 15 weeks pregnant as of today. I am starting to show and that is getting exciting. I am starting to get sick of the in between phase of being too big for my close, but not big enough for maternity clothes. While the belly band is quite possibly one of the best inventions possible, even that is starting to get a little uncomfortable. I never realize how many of my pants had buttons and hooks, until I spent day after day having those hooks dig into my stomach.

I have started my tour of daycare centers. A very daunting, but necessary task. I went yesterday to see the Odessy School and was happy with that program. It has two HUGE benefits in its favor...it is across the street from work and it has a part-time infant program, which is unheard of. It is a little difficult to realize that you are going to be paying someone else to raise your baby, but I know that it is a necessary step. I really want (and need) to keep working. I am going to check out the Goodard School on Friday and I need to set up a visit at Primrose soon. I am putting off Primrose because it is SOOOOO expensive ($1,013 a month) and they don't have a part-time option for infants. I almost choked when they told me how much it was going to cost! I am blessed that mom is going to be able to help out so much and take care of Baby Crigler for the first 5 months I am back at work!
